Yesterday I was coming out of an elevator in a hotel in Westchester, New York. When the doors open, six people were waiting to go inside. The group was standing very close to the door exit, and I had very little room to get out without touching them or having them breathe on me. NONE OF THEM HAD MASKS ON!
Here I was in the presence of an unmasked group of strangers.
They did not step aside to open a clear path for me to get out! Like they were STILL TALKING and spitting as they talked. I had to say something. I said, "oh am so sorry. Can you give me some room? I do not want to breathe on you." They responded by saying, "that is okay, we took the vaccine."
Dude! COVID, OR NO COVID, VACCINE, OR NO VACCINE, I don't want perfect strangers breathing on me or any close talkers near me without a mask! I had a moment of internal panic, thinking to myself these people could be racist, they could be sick with COVID, they could be blocking me. NOPE! None of that, it turns out they were #culturallylit and just close talkers who wanted to talk. Remember those days? Ah, the days when people held you up by the elevator door to just talk are coming back; close talkers are back!
Now that Covid-19 came, I have the opportunity to create something for all close talkers and myself. I have made the 'STILL TALKING FACE MASK.' We all can meet up even if at an elevator door. However, if you are a close talker, I will have to ask you to put on this mask, especially if you are still talking.
Support #Culturallylit and get yourself a fitted "Still Talking Face Mask."
